FPL is well and truly back:
Deadline: Saturday 24th August 11:00 BST
Week 1 Review:
Everyone okay? I think it’s fair to say that was some weekend(mainly for Salah owners),.We have begun the 9 month long marathon once again.
For me personally I had a rather good weekend getting 80 points(compared to a 57 average), so I suppose I will take that. Although I am truly gutted with my last minute decision to bench Gvardiol for Burn, which has cost me 2 points and I am very sure will come back to haunt me in May.
week 1 points tally.
It is quite fair to say we went through a weekend of not too many shocks. With all going as predicted, outside Leicesters draw with spurs.
Team of the week

Team of the week.
Now if you’re anything like me you’ve spent the past few days looking at this squad wondering who in this team do you need to get in for next weekend, as you are most certainly like me and have just two of these players in your squad. If you have to add any in though I would try make room for Salah, saka and Havertz in your team.

The Plan:
LIke Gameweek 1 this is not the time for any rogue and out there captains or transfers. So just keep it simple. As much as you may want to make changes in your squad it is smarter to keep what you have selected for now, unless you are changing someone who is injured out. Many people have asked about getting the likes of Nkunku out of their team after little play time against city, but remember we don’t bring players in for games against city.
Even with the likes of Quansah and Schar having very poor weeks, I wouldn’t recommend just getting rid of them. As we only have one week worth of data to make decisions on. So there is no point in making any rash decisions such as the 280k who took out walkins or the 155k who have took out Eze, there just simply isn’t enough data this season to make any decision on how they will preform over the next few game weeks.
What to do with Barco:
Now this may be the only problem, with the best looking £4.0 million defender on his way out on a season long loan to Sevilla it probably is time to replace him(although his price will not go down), to ensure there is a player in your squad getting points on the board this weekend. Here are the three best options I have come up with
Harwood-Bellis:
Yes a Southampton defender, awful idea right? Well I would disagree. For his again £4.0 price tag I think he is an excellent choice as your last fps sub, especially over the next month or two. With Fixtures against Nottingham Forest and Brentford coming up before the international break this is a genuine chance for Southampton to get some points on the board. With Man united and then Ipswich at home coming up after that Harwood-Bellis could be I with the chance of around 3 points every week and possibly pushing the 5-6 range in some of these games
Michael Keane:
Our second choice is predicted to get more points over the next four game weeks than Harwood-Bellis(14.1 compared to 12), but we think Keane is still a slightly worse choice to Bellis. With fixtures against Spurs and then Bournemouth coming up soon these are potential point hitters, especially Bournemouth at home on game week three.
Jack Stephens:
I never believed id be giving Jack Stephens as a genuine FPL option in my life, but I guess here we are. Like Harwood-Bellis he has decent fixtures over the next few game weeks, apart from Man united and he should push 3 points every game week, solid option but I don’t think he could be described as the ideal option:
Captain Options:
Haaland, a really easy answer. I don’t think there will be a better captain option all season than Haaland playing Ipswich at home. Expected hat trick in coming. Would I triple captain him though, NO, id save that for later in the season when cups add up and we will get a week where he plays twice, or at least someone who will get a ton of points plays twice.
If you’re a poor soul like me though and for some reason didn’t budget for Haaland I would go for Salah, at home to Brentford he is expected to still pick up 8 points on the board. And then as vice captain, Eze at home to West Ham is again a good choice. He did unfairly have that free kick ruled out last weekend and I do still back Palace to have a good season and push a conference league spot. And with West Ham still settling in under a new manager it is the time to back Eze to bring us some good points returns over the next few weeks.
Official Team:

Gw2 line up
This is the team I will be going into game week two with. Not really any major changes apart from Burn being benched for Gvardiol and then Barco being replaced by Edwards. Which yeah major mistake, despite wanting and raving about Harwood-Bellis I still went onto the FPL app selected Edwards by mistake didn’t read it, accepted the transfer only to upload my team onto here and realise a player who I have not only never heard off but won’t play is now in my squad wasting a transfer for absolutly no reason. I will still dream I have Harwood-Bellis in my team as he is my preference and who I would recommend to put into your team ahead of barco.
Expected to get 70 points, and I wish everyone else a good weekend
